Our History

The Grand Island Community Concert Association was organized in 1931 as a licensee of Columbia Artists, a New York-based corporation. Artists were chosen from a syllabus presented by Columbia.

In 1988, our name was changed to the Grand Island Concert Association. We secure our professional concerts from Allied Concert Services, Inc., of Plymouth, Minnesota.

For more than 90 years, our Association has enriched the cultural life of Central Nebraska, communities. We showcase musicians who interpret works of the great composers and offer symphonic and chamber music, instrumental and vocal soloists, choirs, opera, ballet, folk dance, and jazz.

Our membership is drawn primarily from a hundred mile radius of Grand Island and is by season subscription for $75.
